Dr. Estefan
Dr. Estefan is a West Michigan native. After his undergraduate studies at Grand Valley State University, he went on to receive his Doctorate of Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During his time at Palmer he studied Sports Injury and Rehabilitation where he was given the unique opportunity to treat patients and collegiate athletes with traditional chiropractic care in combination with the latest rehabilitation and sports medicine protocols.
After graduating from Palmer College, Dr. Estefan worked in a multiple disciplinary, occupational health clinic in Holland, Michigan. There he managed patients who had suffered spinal injuries related to work activities. He played a key role in injury prevention through ergonomic consulting at several large manufacturing facilities throughout West Michigan, such as Landscape Design Services, Howard Miller, Spartan, and Kraft. In 2003, Dr. Estefan opened Lakeshore Chiropractic and has continued to expand services for their patients. Dr. Estefan continues to focus on blending chiropractic care with physical rehabilitation to achieve the best results for his patients. Since opening Lakeshore Chiropractic, Dr. Estefan has completed a 3-year post-graduate program in physical rehabilitation through Southern California University of Health Sciences. Dr. Estefan continues to study new developments in sports medicine and physical rehabilitation.
Dr. Estefan is affiliated with the American Chiropractic Association and the McKenzie Institute USA. He is also actively involved in the community with Holy Redeemer Health Ministry and Habitat For Humanity.
Outside of the practice, Dr. Estefan enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and competitive cycling.
Dr. Wiersma was born and raised in St. Johns, Michigan. He attended Alma College where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science, Magna Cum Laude, in Athletic Training.
He then moved to St. Louis Missouri where he attended Logan University and received a Doctorate of Chiropractic, Magna Cum Laude. While at Logan University, he was involved with the Motion Palpation Institute, Rehab 2 Performance, and Forward Thinking Chiropractic student organizations.
Dr. Wiersma seeks to be an evidence-based physician that practices within the guidelines of current research. During his time at Chiropractic school, he attended over 300 hours of continuing education courses in things like Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS rehab), and the Mckenzie Method focusing on blending exercise and manual therapy in combination with chiropractic care. He also obtained his Selective Functional Movement Assessment Level 1 (SFMA) certification. He also has clinical experience in a sports medicine focused chiropractic setting and a clinic that specializes in spinal cord injuries.
Dr. Wiersma and his wife are excited to be back in Michigan. In his free time, he enjoys staying active, hunting, fishing and any form of outdoor work.
