X-Ray Necessity

We only use X-rays at Lakeshore Chiropractic when they’re clinically needed. Our doctors follow guidelines set by the American College of Radiology. There are a few reasons why we might need X-rays:

  • If you’ve had a fall or accident that caused significant pain, we’ll likely take X-rays of the area.

  • If we suspect a serious illness, X-rays help us rule it out.

  • If you’re not responding as expected to treatment, X-rays can provide valuable insight into what might complicating your case.

X-rays are not typically used just to check for spinal alignment, as research shows that these measurements are often unreliable. We only recommend X-rays when they directly help us change your treatment plan.

Conditions like scoliosis or other specific spine issues might require X-rays, but these are rare and are typically suspected through a thorough history and exam first.

In short, we only use X-rays when they’re likely to make a significant difference in your care. We don’t use them as part of a routine check-up.

If you or someone you know is struggling with pain, don’t hesitate to reach out. We look forward to helping.
